A retired CID inspector was arrested on Friday for trying to extort Rs 10 lakhs from a scrap dealer of Bally in Howrah. Kamal Chowdhary, the accused even managed to fool the local police to harass the dealer. But his motive got a major setback when the dealer lodged a complaint against him.
