Alastair Cook: Recipe For Success
Alastair Cook was born on 25 December 1984 at Gloucester, England. Cook, who made a Test century on his international debut against India at Nagpur in March 2006, is one of the finest batsmen in world cricket today. Early in his career, Cook struggled to convert his fifties into centuries, but the left-handed opening batsman has overcome that problem in style. Cook captained England to its first Test series victory on Indian soil since 1984-85 and also became the first captain score a century in each of his first five Tests in charge. He was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2011 Birthday Honours.
