The hearing of the December 16, 2012 gang rape-cum-murder case of a 23-year-old medical student will be held in a fast track court from today. The hearing of the case will be on a day-to-day basis. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court is likely to hear the petition demanding shifting of the case to some other state. Ram Singh, the prime accused in the brutal incident, has demanded that the case be transferred outside the national capital to ensure an impartial hearing. Singh has said that he does not want the case to be heard in Delhi or Uttar Pradesh, and is open to it being heard in any other state. The physiotherapy student was gang-raped and brutally tortured by six people including a juvenile in a moving bus last year. She died of her injuries in a Singapore hospital on December 29.
