Cyclone Thane through the lenses of Yahoo! readers
On the morning of December 30, Cyclone Thane, bearing winds of 140 kph, burst in from the Bay of Bengal and made landfall between Cuddalore and Puducherry on India's southeastern coast. Yahoo! India had carried a slideshow on the destruction left by the storm in Puducherry. Over the past few days several Yahoo! readers wrote in to share their experiences and sent their pictures. Here is an editor's selection of some of the most telling pictures from our readers in Puducherry, Cuddalore and Salem. One of our readers, Bakya Priya from Puducherry, wrote in with a touching, uplifting message that we have included in this slideshow. Thank you for your response. We wish you a safe and happy 2012 and we hope your lives have returned to normal.
