Members of the city's civic authority BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) dismantle an illegal lift that was being constructed in Mumbai's Wankhede stadium on April 12, 2012. BMC had sent a notice to 'stop work' on the project last month to the owners of an IPL team at whose behest the lift was being constructed. According to Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) officials, the owner who has a corporate box atop the pavilion was finding it difficult to climb up the stairs to reach his corporate box suggested to the MCA that he would build a lift at Wankhede to reach the corporate seats at his own expense.
