The UPA government has today said that it is confident of securing the requisite numbers in the Lok Sabha, ahead of the crucial debate and voting in the house on FDI in retail. It also urged all parties to reject the "politics" behind the issue. Meanwhile, the BJP has stated that it is confident that they will be able to muster enough strength to defeat the government on the FDI issue. Echoing similar sentiments the TMC said that it won't ever vote in support of FDI.
