To effectively combat the left wing extremism and bridge the gap between the villagers and security personnel, Police launched a 'Civic Action Programme' in the Maoist affected Bargarh district of Odisha. The district police in Padampur subdivision organised a cricket match with an aim to win confidence of the villagers. The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Sanjay Singh said that they had organised the programme in an attempt to provide a helping hand to the villagers. One of the villagers, Babuloka appreciated the efforts of the police and said that it would enhance the relations between police and locals.
