Keeping in view the problem of sweet water availability in Bharatpur, Rajasthan Chief Minister, Ashok Gehlot recently laid the foundation stone for the Chambal Drinking Water Project.The State Government has made collective efforts for speedy execution of this project, due to which most parts of Bharatpur and Keoladeo Park are now getting sweet water of Chambal.Gehlot said the work of laying Chambal pipe line worth Rs. 150 crore has been taken up and it will benefit 133 villages. Rs. 580 crore has been spent on the project till now and for water supply in Deeg, Kaman, Nagar, Kumher and Sikri areas Rs. 320 crore more will be spent. less
