Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram has denied media reports that the government wanted to make the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) a multiple-member body. Minister of States in Prime Minister's office, V Narayanasamy had earlier said that the government was thinking over the proposal of the Shunglu committee, which had said to make the CAG a multi member body. Narayanasamy, however rejected the report and said that he was 'misquoted' and taken out of context. Chidambaram added that Narayanaswamy made a general comment regarding Shunglu Committee report that had proposed such changes in the CAG.
