Expressing happiness over the election of Rajnath Singh as the new president of the BJP, senior party leader Yashwant Sinha, who had protested against a second presidential term for Nitin Gadkari, said that the party will flourish under a new experienced and energetic leadership. Talking to reporters in New Delhi, Sinha hoped for Singh's successful tenure. Suspended BJP leader, Ram Jethmalani who according to media reports strongly opposed Gadkari's second term as the opposition chief said that he is happy with the party's decision.
