Yuvraj on rampage, India set stiff 193-run target for Pak in Ahmedabad Twenty20

Ahmedabad, Dec.28 (ANI): India on Friday set a stiff 193-run target for Pakistan after winning the toss and electing to bat in the second and final Twenty20 match that is being played at the Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium in Motera near here.

India scored 192 for the loss of five wickets of 20 overs. The score was made possible by a swashbuckling knock of 72 from Yuvraj Singh and and a typical 33 by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

India had earlier lost the wickets of Gautram Gambhir, Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli.

Earlier, before the commencement of the match, Ahmedabad Police beefed up security.

Inspector General of Police Ajay Kumar Tomar said: "We request people to enjoy the match peacefully and they should follow the police's directives. We have made adequate arrangement to control the crowd. We have set up quick reaction teams and commando teams. Apart from it, we have installed CCTV cameras at various places in the stadium to keep vigil on any suspicious movement."

Hasmukh Patel, a fan, said: "I have here from America, Missouri state, Columbia town and 10 days ago we casted our vote. We have come here to watch the match after having cast our votes. After sometimes we will fly back. We are thoroughly going to enjoy it. We lost the last match to Pakistan but we are going to win."

Kush Desai, another fan, said: "I am here at the Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium for the India, Pakistan T20 match. I am really excited for it."

Police cleared the traffic near the stadium and urged people to enjoy the match peacefully.

Hours before the match, fans, in colourful dresses, with India's national flags and coloured cheeks, queued outside the stadium. Some of them had arrived from the United States to watch the thrilling encounter.

The two teams will play the second T20 match in Ahmedabad before taking part in three one-day internationals (ODIs) in Chennai, Kolkata and Delhi. (ANI)
