London, Mar 4 (ANI): England fast bowler Chris Woakes has claimed the team would bounce back in the Test series against New Zealand after losing their first warm up game in seven years on Sunday.

Alastair Cook's men travel to Dunedin on Monday and have just three days to get the three-wicket setback against a New Zealand XI at the Queenstown Event Centre ground out of their systems before the first Test against the Kiwis, the Daily Star reports.

The New Zealand XI chased 334 to win, thanks to a second half-century of the game from BJ Watling.

Woakes said he doesn't think the squad is feeling too low, adding it's not ideal losing a warm-up match or a full international but they feel there are positives to take out of the game.

The Warwickshire man admitted, though, that the tourists were not always at their best, adding probably not quite enough runs in our second innings was where they lost it.

Woakes added if they could have put on another 50 runs, that would have been very handy, adding it's not just the top order, and all the way down, they need to chip in and they didn't do that enough.

Woakes said they knew that 330 was probably gettable, as it was a good wicket, adding when they got five wickets, they felt like they probably were on top but they knew the next two were crucial. (ANI)
