London, (ANI): Former England Test captain and an aspiring boxer Andrew Flintoff has ruled a return to cricket after regaining full fitness and getting back into shape.

Flintoff ended his career in 2010 after a series of serious knee injuries, but he is now fitter than ever having switched sports to boxing and has shed more than three stone ahead of his debut fight with American novice Richard Dawson on November 30.

New trim figure had led to speculation the Lancashire lad may consider a lucrative cricketing comeback should a Twenty20 outfit come knocking on his door.

But while Flintoff openly admits he misses the sport, he insists he has not received any offers and will not be coming out of retirement.

"Before I was this fit I'd think 'I could play again' every day. And when I'm 50 I'll be thinking 'I could still play'. I've not made it a secret that I miss playing cricket," the Sun quoted Flintoff, as saying.

"I finished at 31, that was my last game, and I wanted to play for Lancashire for a couple of years to give back to the county that gave me so much. That wasn't to be. You can dream and you can daydream but it's not happening really is it," he added.

"I've not picked up a bat in a while. There are a lot of good players out there without delving into people like myself. I love cricket, I love going to watch now. I've reverted to being a cricket fan again," he said.

Flintoff added: "That's the reason I got into the game in the first place - because I enjoyed it. And that's what I do now. I've got cricket academies up and down the country. I enjoy playing cricket with my two boys and taking them. I've had my time." (ANI)
