Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 so far has produced exciting, and nail-biting finishes baring a few one-sided games. Sadly for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), both sides have featured in quite a few mauling in their last matches. Match no.19 will see Hyderabad lock horns with Punjab at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. This will be a welcome return for the Hyderabad franchise who have lost both their away games this season. Punjab will hope to turnaround their fortunes after losing both their away games in emphatic manners. The head-to-head between both teams, favour Sunrisers by 6 :2. Playing at SRH’s home ground KXIP have just won one game out of 4. Starting off with the home side, Sunrisers have been hampered with inconsistency from the batting. Apart from David Warner and Moises Henriques no other top order batsmen have had it easy. Yuvraj Singh, Deepak Hooda and Ben Cutting have all had hit and a miss show so far. SRH might be tempted to rope in Kane Williamson given he provides stability. There is a slim change SRH opting to play Mohammad Nabi.
Another issue that has been a letdown so far is the performance of Mustafizur Rahman and Ashish Nehra. Stars from the IPL 9 edition, both players have leaked runs from both ends with no wickets in their kitty. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rashid Khan have been on top of their game picking 10 and 7 wickets respectively.
Likely XI: David Warner (C), Shikhar Dhawan, Moises Henriques, Deepak Hooda, Yuvraj Singh, Ben Cutting/Mohammad Nabi, Naman Ojha (W), Bipul Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Ashish Nehra
Punjab, meanwhile have a plenty of issues on their hand to sort. Starting from their ever changing batting line-up. Maxwell in the previous mentioned about why he tinkered with the order promoting Eoin Morgan and Wriddhiman Saha. With no Murali Vijay the opening stands with Hashim Amla has not been reliable. With no domestic talent to rely upon the likes of Eoin Morgan, David Miller and Maxwell himself are under the pump to perform well. If Marcus Stoinis is fit, he will definitely get a look in. Punjab’s bowling has been the least impressive under unhelpful conditions.
Sandeep Sharma, Mohit Sharma and Varon Aaron got taken to the cleaners against Daredevils. Only Akshar Patel has showed some resilience, having picked 4 wickets, Aaron to his credit has 5 scalps.
Likely XI: Glenn Maxwell (c), Hashim Amla, Manan Vohra, Eoin Morgan/ Marcus Stoinis, David Miller, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Akshar Patel, Mohit Sharma, Varun Aaron, Sandeep Sharma, KC Cariappa
Sunrisers Hyderabad: David Warner (c), Shikhar Dhawan, Moises Henriques, Yuvraj Singh, Deepak Hooda, Naman Ojha (wk), Ben Cutting, Bipul Sharma, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Rashid Khan, Ashish Nehra, Ricky Bhui, Kane Williamson, Siddarth Kaul, Abhimanyu Mithun, Mustafizur Rahman, Barinder Sran, Vijay Shankar, Chris Jordan, Mohammad Nabi, Eklavya Dwivedi, Pravin Tambe, Ben Laughlin, Tanmay Agarwal, Mohammed Siraj.
