Disgraced pacer Sreesanth’s lies may well have been nailed.
Sreesanth, who has been banned for life by the BCCI on charges of spot-fixing, has been caught on camera splurging on clothes at a showroom of the high-end brand Diesel in Mumbai.
Sreesanth went on a shopping spree and spent close to 2 lakh on clothes, but little did he know that a day after his indulgence, he was to be arrested by the Delhi Police for spot-fixing during the IPL.
The CCTV footage accessed by Headlines Today also shows his close association with bookie Jiju Janardan and another fixing accused Abhishek Shukla, both of whom accompanied him.
Sreesanth spent an hour-and-a-half at the showroom and could be seen dancing and chatting with his friends. In fact, Jiju settled the bill for Sreesanth.
The Diesel showroom in Juhu was one of the favourite shopping destinations for the cricketers with Pakistan umpire Asad Rauf, who has been named in the Mumbai crime branch charge-sheet as a wanted accused, also seen splurging on clothes at the same store just four hours before Sreesanth.
At the showroom, Rauf was seen carrying a bundle of cash to make payments for the clothes he bought. Rauf spent more than 60,000 at the same showroom in a period of one month between April 14 to May 14.
