Karachi, Sept 18 (ANI): Interim chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Najam Sethi, has threatened to quit his position if Islamabad High Court continued to interfere with his job.
Sethi has been stopped by the court from carrying out his full duties and ordered to hold new board elections.
According to The Dawn, Sethi threatened to tender his resignation to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, saying that repeated court interventions prevented him from picking any selector or taking any decision for Pakistan cricket, especially with the series against South Africa drawing nearer.
Sethi also said that the board has challenged the court decision, adding that the next hearing will be held on the 23rd of this month
In July, the court prevented Sethi from exercising his full duties after he was appointed acting chairman by the government, with the report adding that the court had earlier declared as null and void the election of Mohammad Zaka Ashraf as PCB chairman in May. (ANI)
