India -- Was Virender Sehwag contemplating a move from the Delhi Daredevils?
A fresh wave of rumours seem to suggest that. While HT couldn't independently verify it but Delhi cricket sources have suggested that Sehwag was in talks with the Mumbai Indians sometime back, but the deal didn't work out. With fresh auctions due next year, it remains to be seen what happens next.
Sehwag has already appeared for Reliance, the owners of the franchise, in a few tournaments.
He left his former employers, ONGC, in 2010 on the pretext that he was starting his business and couldn't hold a post in a government company at the same time.
However, it was also speculated then that he was looking to join Reliance. That didn't happen.
The latest round of speculation of him lookingto join the Mumbai Indians gained ground when he appeared for Reliance in the DY Patil tournament in January. However, sources add that his recent poor form and axing from the India team may not be helping his future prospects.
