Islamabad, Jan. 13 (ANI): Pakistan spinner Saeed Ajmal has dropped his plans of playing the Big Bash League (BBL) keeping Pakistan's South Africa tour in mind, according to sources.
Ajmal had already received NOC from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) but still opted out of Australia's domestic T20 competition, reports the Daily Times.
Ajmal was all set to play for Adelaide Strikers in the knockout round of the event but now he will not be part of the squad.
A source said Ajmal doesn't want to risk injury by participating in BBL considering how important the tour of South Africa is. He wants to give his best and remain injury-free, the source added.
PCB had earlier denied Ajmal permission to play the BBL, but later acceded to the request. (ANI)
