Group A

Punjab Vs Bengal

Venue: PCA Stadium, Mohali

Result: Punjab (579/7 declared) beat Bengal (326 all out and 226 all out) by an innings and 27 runs

Laxmi Ratan Shukla was stuck on 91 as Bengal were bowled out for 226, failing to negate Punjab’s 253-run lead, to lose by an innings and 27 runs. Manpreet Gony took 5/41, while Siddharth Kaul finished with a haul of 4/58. Punjab picked up 7 points to go to the top of the table.

Hyderabad Vs Madhya Pradesh

Venue: Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad

Result:  Madhya Pradesh (431/8 declared) drew with Hyderabad (341 all out and 8/0)

Devendra Bundela and Jalaj Saxena scored identical knocks of 142, as Madhya Pradesh picked up three points for taking the lead. Hyderabad had to be content with a solitary point for their effort.

Gujarat Vs Saurashtra

Venue: Lalabhai Contractor Stadium, Surat

Result: Saurashtra (716/3) drew with Gujarat (600/9 declared)

Ravindra Jadeja (303*) struck his second triple century in the Ranji Trophy, forging a 539-run partnership with Sagar Jogiyani (282) as Saurashtra picked up three points for taking the first innings lead. Gujarat picked up one point.

Rajasthan Vs Mumbai

Venue: KL Saini Ground, Jaipur

Result: Mumbai (579 all out) drew with Rajasthan (478 all out)

Abhishek Nayar struck 105* as Mumbai scored 579 all out, to pick up three points for overhauling Rajasthan’s first innings score of 478 all out. Hrishikesh Kanitkar’s men had to be happy with one point.

Group B

Tamil Nadu Vs Karnataka

Venue: MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk, Chennai

Result: Karnataka (562/6) drew with Tamil Nadu (538/4 declared)

Ganesh Satish (200*) and CM Gautam (130*) helped Karnataka pick up three points after they went past Tamil Nadu’s first innings score in thrilling fashion on the final day.

Delhi Vs Odisha

Venue:  Feroz Shah Kotla, New Delhi

Result:  Delhi (331 all out and 82/0) beat Odisha (143 all out and 269 all out) by 10 wickets

Pawan Suyal (5/93) helped bowl out Odisha, to give Delhi an easy target of 82 for a win. Openers Shikhar Dhawan (55*) and Unmukt Chand (23*) kept their wickets intact as Delhi picked up the bonus point as well.

Vidarbha Vs Baroda

Venue: Moti Bagh Stadium, Vadodra

Result: Baroda (514/7) drew with Vidarbha (264 all out and 218/4)

Baroda picked up three points for taking the first innings lead, after Faiz Fazal (98) came in their way of enforcing a win. The players called the match off after Fazal was dismissed byWaghmode.

Maharashtra Vs Uttar Pradesh

Venue: Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium, Pune

Result: Maharashtra (764/6 declared) drew with Uttar Pradesh (669/7)

Both sides picked up a point each, after Maharashtra’s mammoth first innings total proved to be a tough climb for Uttar Pradesh, despite three centuries from Tanmay Srivastava (179), Piyush Chawla (156) and Mukul Dagar (126).

Group C

Services Vs Himachal Pradesh

Venue: Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Nadaun

Result: Himachal Pradesh (544/6 declared) drew with Services (312 all out and 314/4)

Soumya Swain’s (118*) century helped the Services eke out a draw against Himachal Pradesh. Aakash Chopra’s men picked up three points for taking the lead, while the cricket team representing the armed forces added one point to their kitty.

Assam Vs Jharkhand

Venue:  Keenan Stadium, Jamshedpur

Result: Assam (179 and 207) beat Jharkhand (174 and 159) by 53 runs

J Syed Mohammad (5/52) and Arlen Konwar (4/72) ran through Jharkhand’s batting, to help Assam pick up six points, after the hosts failed to reach the 213-run target.

Tripura Vs Andhra

Venue: Rural Development Trust Stadium, Anantapur

Result: Andhra (436/8 declared) drew with Tripura (260 all out and 170/4)

Both teams decided to call it a day- the match going nowhere with Tripura’s batsmen at the crease. Andhra picked up three points for taking the lead, while Tripura opened their account with one point.

Jammu & Kashmir Vs Goa

Venue: Porvorim

Result: Goa (406/6 declared) drew with J&K (338 all out & 95/6)

Goa declared on the last day, and gave J&K a scare by reducing them to 95/6, before Bandeep Singh and Samiullah Beigh hung around to ensure the game was drawn. The Goans picked up three points.
