Centuries from Vineet Saxena (114) and skipper Hrishikesh Kanitkar (119), and an unbeaten 76 from Dishant Yagnik saw Rajasthan were bowled out for 478. For Mumbai Dhawal Kulkarni took 3/88, while Shardul Thakur and Kaustubh Pawar took two wickets each. In reply, Mumbai were 76/0, with openers Kaustubh Pawar (26) and Aditya Tare (43) at the crease.

Day 1 Score: Bengal 280/7
Wriddhiman Saha (98) missed out on a century, as Bengal folded for 326. Rahul Sharma being the pick of the bowlers taking 4/53. Punjab however registered a strong response with Jiwanjot Singh (102*) and Mayank Sidhana (107*) taking the hosts to 229/1.

Hyderabad Vs Madhya Pradesh
Venue: Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad
Day 1 Score: Hyderabad 159/2
VVS Laxman’s (120) century powered Hyderabad to 341 all out, with Ishwar Pandey and Anand Rajan taking four wickets each for the visitors. MP were in a spot of bother at 44/3, with Devendra Bundela (11*) and Udit Birla (6*) batting, when stumps were announced.

Gujarat Vs Saurashtra

Day 1 Score: Gujarat 278/5
Rujul Bhatt’s 160 and Manprit Juneja’s 159 saw Gujarat posting a mammoth 600/9 declared. In reply, Chirag Pathak (24) and Bhushan Chauhan (18) played 36 deliveries each to take Saurashtra to 42/0 at stumps.

Tamil Nadu Vs Karnataka
Venue: MA Chidambaram Stadium
Day 1 Score: Tamil Nadu 260/2
All six batsmen who featured in Tamil Nadu’s first innings score of 538/4 declared managed 50+ scores, with Dinesh Karthik (154*) and Baba Aparajith (112) posting centuries. In reply, Karnataka’s openers KB Pawan (5) and Robin Uthappa (18), survived 10 overs, to help their side to 26/0 at stumps.

Odisha Vs Delhi

Day 1 Score: Odisha 143 all out, Delhi 62/3
Mithun Manhas’s knock of 161 not out powered Delhi to 331 all out, helping them gain a healthy 188-run lead. Basant Mohanty was Odisha’s best bowler taking 4/81. In their second inning, Odisha were 7/0 with Abhilash Mallick and Paresh Patel at the crease.

Vidarbha Vs Baroda

Day 1 Score: Vidharba 219/8
Hemang Badani’s unbeaten knock of 111* helped Vidharba score 264 all out. Baroda openers Aditya Waghmode (62) and Kedar Devdhar (29) failed to cash in on good starts, while Abhimanyu Chauhan (58*) and Rakesh Solanki (39*) managed to keep their wickets intact, to take their side to 192/2.

Day 1 Score: Maharashtra 339/3
Kedar Jadhav (327) struck the first triple century of the season, as Maharashtra took the UP bowlers to task on the second day, scoring a mammoth 738/5.

Services Vs Himachal Pradesh
Venue: Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Nadaun
Day 1 Score: Services 290/6
Vikramjeet Singh and Rishi Dhawan took three wickets each as Services were bowled out for 312. HP’s openers- skipper Aakash Chopra (65*) and Prashant Chopra (90) gave them a good start, before walking back to the dressing room. At stumps, Himachal Pradesh were 252/2.

Assam Vs Jharkhand
Venue: Keenan Stadium, Jamshedpur
Day 1 Score: Assam 179/10, Jharkhand 2/0
Resuming from their overnight score, Jharkand were bowled out for 174 after off-spinner Arlen Konwar spun a web around the hosts, taking 6/67. In reply, Assam added 27 runs to their five-run lead, losing openers Pallavkumar Das and Dheeraj Jhadav in the process.

An 8th wicket partnership worth 146, between centurion Parvez Rassol (171) and skipper Samiullah Beigh (57) saw J&K recovering to post 338 all out. Goa were 48/0 at stumps, with Amogh Desai (21*) and Swapnil Asnodkar (22) at the crease.

Tripura Vs Andhra

Abbas Ali’s 103* was the highlight of Tripura’s first innings total of 260 all out, with Atchuta Rao emerging as Andhra Pradesh’s best bowler, taking 3/41. AP did well to finish with 154/0, with openers Prasanth Kumar (80*) and Hemal Watekar (57*) walking off with their heads held high at stumps.
