Islamabad, Sept 2 (ANI): State-run Pakistan Television (PTV) will miss out on cricket rights for the South Africa and Sri Lanka series to be played in Dubai in the next six months, after failing to bid for them.
According to The Daily Times, it is yet to be determined that whether it was a deliberate miss out by PTV to benefit the other parties in the competition or it was due to the sheer negligence and incompetence of the PTV management.
The absence from bidding process means that now PTV will be either fully dependent on the dictate of the two winners of the bid, TEN Sports and Geo Sports, who won South Africa and Sri Lanka series respectively or would not be able to show these series at all, the report said.
A lot of countries have not agreed to play cricket in Pakistan over the last few years owing to security reasons, which has forced various series to be played at other venues. (ANI)
