Calcutta: Cuttack and Bhubaneswar are most likely to host the Group B matches of the ICC Women's World Cup, which begins on January 31.
The Group B matches were shifted out of Mumbai after Shiv Sena threatened that it would oppose ties involving Pakistan.
The Barabati Stadium and the DRIEMS Stadium were the initially-selected grounds in Cuttack, while the Railways ground would most probably be the sole venue in Bhubaneswar.
According to Odisha Cricket Association president Ranjib Biswal, things will be clear by Thursday evening.
However, it is understood that the Pakistan women cricketers will play their matches in Bhubaneswar only.
The city being the capital of the state, it would be easier for the authorities to maintain the security details.
Biswal, who is a former India selector and manager, clarified that there will be no priced tickets for the Cup matches, but that doesn't mean the ties would be closed-door affairs.
So while there will be no counter sale of tickets, the association will ensure that the interested parties are able to watch the matches.
Biswal, who was back from Mumbai after attending meetings throughout the day on the issue, also assured that adequate measures are being taken on the security front.
