Edinburgh, Aug 19 (ANI): Andy Murray's successful win at the US Open and Wimbledon slams has encouraged young children in Scotland to take up the sport and play for free on select days, sparking a boom in tennis in the nation.
According to The Scotsman, Murray's mother Judy expressed that she never would have believed tennis could have been the way it was now in Scotland and the buzz of knowing who Andy was had given a massive opportunity to grow the sport.
Judy said that initiatives like free tennis would really help the cause of encouraging the sport in the country.
The Wimbledon Champion's mother said that Jamie Baker too was an exciting prospect for Scottish tennis in recent years. (ANI)
