Mukund to captain India 'A' on NZ Tour

Ashok Menaria to be his deputy.


Mumbai:
Opener Abhinav Mukund has been named captain of the India 'A' team for the tour of New Zealand.

Mukund replaces Cheteshwar Pujara, who had captained the team to the West Indies earlier in the year and who has now been named in India’s Test squad for the New Zealand series.

Rajasthan's Ashok Menaria will be the vice captain.

The team will tour New Zealand during September and October for three limited-overs matches, one Twenty20 and two first-class games.

Unmukt Chand, who is currently leading the India Under-19s in the World Cup in Australia, is also in the ‘A’ squad.

The Squad: INDIA ‘A’: Abhinav Mukund (c), Ashok Menaria (vc), Naman Ojha, Mandeep Singh, Anustup Majumdar, Ambati Rayudu, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Akshay Darekar, Vinay Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Surya Kumar Yadav, Jalaj Saxena, Rahul Sharma, Rituraj Singh, Jaydev Unadkat and Unmukt Chand.
