London, Feb 6 (ANI): New Zealand legend Sir Richard Hadlee has tipped seamer James Anderson to become England's most successful bowler in future.
Anderson has 288 Test victims, putting him fifth on the all-time list behind Ian Botham, Bob Willis, Fred Trueman and Derek Underwood, but Hadlee remains convinced the swinger would climb to the top, the Sun reports.
Hadlee said he has always rated Anderson as he is a quality bowler, adding he has spearheaded England's attack magnificently over the years in all conditions.
The legend added he is surprised Anderson's Test average is around 30. claiming he is a far better bowler than that and should be getting his average down to the mid-20s.
Hadlee further said Anderson is always a threat and gets out quality batsmen with magnificent deliveries, which is something he rates and respect.
Hadlee added Anderson wants to become England's leading bowler wicket-wise and he certainly has time on his side.
Hadlee finished with 431 Test wickets and for a while in the 1980s was the world's leading wicket-taker. (ANI)
