Dimapur, Jan 18 (ANI): Guitarists in Nagaland have set a new world record of performing as the largest electric guitar ensemble.
About 368 guitarists came together from northeastern states, including Nagaland, Assam, Manipur, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh to perform the cover version of "Knock Knock Knocking on Heavens Door' by Guns and Roses for more than five minutes.
"We are very positive; we have crossed the 300 bar today as of now so we have already created a world record," said Kikon, an organizer.
It's one of a kind and I am quite happy to be a part of it. And we Nagas are really into music, so this is a big platform to showcase our talent. It's so good to see the performers from different states," said Yapang, a participant.
The previous Guinness world record for the largest electric guitar ensemble was set in England with 250 musicians.
The official representative of Guinness World Record India, Nikhil Shukla, was particular about each and every guideline set and declared the ensemble to be the largest ever.
"This record is for most people playing electric guitar at the same time and same tune. The minimum requirement for this record is 250 people playing together so there are different ways how we are going to measure this and verify it," said Shukla.
'Music has no boundaries' and such events highlight the fact that anything is possible with unity and cooperation. (ANI)
