London, Aug 6 (ANI): Troubled former footballer Paul Gascoigne had reportedly been fined 1000 pounds after he pleaded guilty to common assault and drunk and disorderly charges linked to an incident at a railway station which occurred last month.
According to the Daily Express, Gascoigne, who has battled alcoholism for many years, has admitted the two charges after assaulting a railway guard and his former wife Sheryl on the night of July 4.
However, the report mentioned that Sheryl later dropped her charge against her ex-husband.
Acceding to the report, the former England star, who received treatment for his drink problem in an US rehabilitation centre earlier this year, was fined 600 pounds for one charge of assault and 400 pounds for a drunk and disorderly charge.
Gascoigne was also ordered to pay 100 pounds as compensation to the railway guard, court costs of 85 pounds and a victim surcharge of 60 pounds, the report added. (ANI)
