London, Feb 10 (ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said he would look to avoid mind games with Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, whom he branded as clever b*****r, ahead of their Champions League first-round clash at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday.
Ferguson, who became one of Mourinho's friendliest rivals when Manchester United and Chelsea were battling for trophies, said the wily Portuguese would try and use the power of the media to his own advantage, the Daily Mail reports.
The Scot said he thinks Mourinho plays mind games and he enjoys that part, adding the former Inter Milan boss enjoys it better than he does.
Ferguson added Mourinho has this mischievous side and you are never quite sure what he is up to, adding his advice to himself would be not to go down that road, not to contest that because he is a clever b*****r, and let him get on with it.
Fergie said as long as Mourinho brings me a decent bottle of wine, he would let him off.
Mourinho is under pressure in Madrid as he trails Barcelona in La Liga and he could even face the sack if he goes out to United over two legs.
He reverentially calls Sir Alex 'The Boss' but has lost only twice to him in 14 games and knocked United out en route to Porto winning the Champions League in 2004.
Ferguson prefers to concentrate on his own plans rather than engaging in a battle of wits with Mourinho, one of the leading candidates to eventually succeed him at Old Trafford. (ANI)
