Jagmohan Dalmiya, the Cricket Association of Bengal president, has expressed concerns over Bengal's poor performance in this season's Ranji Trophy. Precisely, it's the batting that worries Dalmiya.

"Our bowlers are doing their job. It's the batsmen who are failing repeatedly. Besides, I was really disappointed when they couldn't finish off Gujarat and secure full points despite having reduced them to 18 four five (at the Eden)," he said on Thursday.

The extension of coach Woorkeri Raman's contract, however, depends on the team's performance in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, Dalmiya added. "We've to sit for a meeting and assess everything once the Vijay Hazare Trophy is over. Whether the present coach will continue or not will be decided after that period only."

Meanwhile, former India off-spinner and international umpire Srinivas Venkataraghavan will sign the certificates that will be given to blood donors at the CAB Foundation Day, on February 3.

Centuries from Shuvajit Acharjya and Rohit Roy led MSCA to a 302-run win over Milan Samity in the Ambar Roy sub-junior under-14 tournament, on Thursday.

Shuvajit hit 119, while Rohit was unbeaten on 102 as MSCA piled up a mammoth 388 for four.

In reply, Milan Samity was bundled out for 86, with Abdul Kalam taking a five-wicket haul for MSCA.

In Division Two, Juyi Ham was the net winner with 212, while Walza Mathew finished as the first runner-up with 217.
