Cook says England's vast reservoir of fast bowlers 'big plus' ahead of Ashes

London, Jan 15(ANI): England captain Alastair Cook has claimed their fast bowling stock is huge right now, adding that its important they have different kind of quick bowlers challenging for a spot in the Test team ahead of the all important Ashes series.

England are on course to floor the Aussies thanks to their biggest and best ever stock of fast bowlers, and with Stuart Broad and Chris Tremlett bowling again after injury, the final pieces of the jigsaw are fitting nicely back into place this month, the Daily Mirror reports.

Cook said in England's Test team, there are almost players challenging for each spot, and added that it's the biggest pool of players they have had in a long time.

Cook said the England team can boast of different kind of fast bowlers, especially in the one-day format where a young crop of fast bowlers are sharpening their skills during their current limited-over series against India.

It is the resting and rotating of England's prized bowling assets that have allowed them to reach this point, but injuries will still occur and that is when people will have to step up.

They have recognized the issue over in Australia where they are busy working on their own armory to take on England over 10 Test matches starting this summer, and after the injury problems Oz have suffered to the likes of Pat Cummins and James Pattinson, it is no exaggeration to suggest that the two series' could be about the survival of the fittest.
