Sydney, (IANS): Australia captain Michael Clarke has been ruled out of the fifth and final One-Day International against the West Indies in Melbourne Sunday after complaining of a recurrence of the hamstring trouble that he has carried through the Australian summer.
Clarke's right hamstring was assessed by the team medical staff following the fourth ODI on Friday, which the home team won, and the physiotherapist has confirmed that Clarke has hamstring stiffness.
While there is no cause for alarm, the 31-year-old will not travel to Melbourne for the fifth ODI as a precaution. He will leave for Chennai for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on February 12, as planned.
Shane Watson will captain Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground while Shaun Marsh has been added to the squad and will travel to Melbourne on Saturday ahead of the match.
Australia currently lead the five-match series 4-0.
