Lucknow, July 18 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday expanded his Cabinet with the induction of two new faces.
While Narad Rai and Kailash were sworn in as Cabinet Ministers at the Raj Bhawan, Ram Murti Verma, who was earlier a Minister of State, was given a Cabinet rank.
Narad Rai, MLA from Ballia Sadar seat is Bhumihar, is senior party leader and was a Minister in the previous Samajwadi Party (SP) Government.
Kailash is a legislator from Ghazipur and considered close to Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Backward leader Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, a Minister of State, was made a Minister with independent charge.
At present, there are 21 Cabinet Ministers in Uttar Pradesh, including the Chief Minister. There are six ministers of state with independent charge and 31 ministers of state. (ANI)
