Sydney, Jan. 18 (ANI): Aaron Finch has been named the player of the Big Bash League season.
The Melbourne Renegades captain played a key role in taking his team from second last to minor premier this season, hammering 332 runs at 66.4 and a strike rate of 125.8. His tactical onus also won praise around the country and helped earn him a berth in Australia's one-day team, reports news.com.au.
Renegades Coach Simon Helmot said Finch was a deserving winner. He said Finch's leadership and captaincy over the season has been fantastic, and added that Finch communicates well with his players and people follow him, which is an important part of being a leader. Helmot further said Finch has a great understanding of the game, is a good, clear decision-maker and is quite a positive captain. (ANI)
