1st Test now in Chennai

Calcutta: The venues for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia have been revised and now the opening Test of the four-match series, beginning February 22, will be held in Chennai, instead of Delhi as it was earlier scheduled. According to the revised schedule, the second Test will be in Hyderabad, followed matches in Mohali and Delhi.

Calcutta: Mainland Sambaran Cricket Academy whipped Vijay Sports by 291 runs in the CAB under-14 Ambar Roy tournament, on Monday.

Batting first, MSCA piled up 344 for seven in 40 overs, with Sajib Debnath hitting a century. In reply, Vijay Sports were bundled out for 53 in 20.4 overs.

Calcutta: Top seed Nitin Kumar Sinha walloped Surya Kumar Srivastav 6-0, 6-1 in the boys' under-14 singles first round of the Super Series Tennis Tournament, which began on Monday, at the Calcutta South Club. In other matches, Adil Kanyanpur too had it easy over Sarthak Deoras with a 6-0, 6-2 win, while Mrityunjay Badola beat Ishaan Tibrewal 5-7, 6-3, 6-1. In the girls' section, Mihika Yadav defeated Adrija Biswas 6-0, 6-0 while Prinkle Singh thrashed Yubrani Banerjee 6-2, 6-1.
