The stadium situated in Jamtha, about 15kms from the city of Nagpur replaced the old Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground and was established in 2008. The Stadium hosted its first ever international match, when India and Australia played the 4th Test Match at this venue in November, 2008 which India won by 172 runs. The ground is equipped with all the modern facilities, including a wi-fi environment and a capacity of 45,000. It also boasts of an international standard training and practice provision and could host a number of matches during the 2011 Cricket World Cup. The ground is home to the Vidarbha and Central Zone cricket team for the domestic Ranji Trophy and the Duleep Trophy matches.
