The two end names at this ground are National Stadium and Pavilion ends. The first international match played at this venue was an ODI game between West Indies and Zimbabwe. The Windies team won the match by six wickets. It was a tri-series which also included India. Another tri-series was played at the Kallang Ground in 2000, between Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa.
