Jinnah Stadium (Jinnah Park)

Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot, Pakistan is another ground which is a multi-use venue. The stadium has been used for cricket as well as football but of late it has been used for the former more. It was established in 1940. It is one of the oldest stadiums in Pakistan and has the capacity to accommodate more than 20000 people. The stadium was known as Connelley Park during the British reign but was immediately renamed to Jinnah stadium after independence. It was constructed in between the period 1979-1984. The Jiannah Stadium hosted its first ever international match in 1976. It was an ODI game between Pakistan and New Zealand which the visitors won by a narrow margin of one run. The first ever Test match at the Jinnah Stadium was played on October 27th, 1985, when Pakistan played against Sri Lanka. Pakistan won that game by a convincing margin of eight wickets. The Jinnah Stadium has the Pakistan Cricket Board as their tenants. The ground has two ends which are the Pavilion and Railway ends.
