With a crowd capacity of 40,000, this stadium can be considered amongst the bigger stadiums of the world. Situated in the Brisbane suburb of Woolloongabba, it’s famously called the Gabba. Established in 1895, it witnessed the first test match only 36 years later. It was played between Australia and South Africa from November 27 - December 3, 1931. And the first ODI was played in the year of the second cricket world cup, between England and West Indies on December 23, 1979. This ground has also undergone a huge redevelopment process during the last decade with modern, concrete stands and they also offer premium facilities to the players and the public. Besides cricket, this ground has been party to Australian Rules football (Brisbane Lions), rugby union, athletics, baseball, cycling, greyhound racing, pony racing, rugby league, and soccer.
