    Pujara marks his return with unbeaten half-century on Day One

    In his first competitive game since April, Cheteshwar Pujara hit an unbeaten 52 as Saurashtra put on 236 for the loss two wickets against Maharashtra. After recovering from a knee injury, Pujara sat out the Ranji Trophy match against Uttar Pradesh. Opting to bat first, Saurashtra lost opener Sagar Jogiyani early, but Chirag Pathak and veteran Shitanshu Kotak combined to get through the difficult period. Though Pathak missed out on a century � making 90 of 178 balls � he put on 127 runs for the second wicket along with Kotak to put Saurashtra in control. Kotak and Pujara were unbeaten on 85 and 52 respectively at stumps were drawn on Day One. For Maharashtra, Fallah and Kedar Jhadav took one wicket apiece.

    CCET claim cricket title

    A strong batting display by Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET) saw them trounce Gobindgarh Public College, Alour by seven wickets in the final match to win the Panjab University Inter-College Cricket (Men) B-Division championship held at the PU grounds on Tuesday. Amitej scored a brilliant 63, while Mayank contributed an unbeaten 44 runs. Batting first, Gobindgarh College were bundled out for 148 in 30 overs. Saurav top scored with 38 runs, while Mohan contributed 34 runs. Prabhjot bowled an inspired spell and returned with a rich haul of 4 for 26. Janamjai scalped 3 for 30. In reply, CCET made 152 for 3 in 22.5 overs. Amitej and Mayank played some good shots all over the ground to help the team record a facile win.
