- Test Cricket
has witnessed four occasions of first six batsmen scoring fifties in a Test
innings, nineteen occasions of first five batsmen scoring fifties in a Test
innings and sixty four occasions of first four batsmen scoring fifties in a Test
innings.
- It is
interesting to note that West Indian batsmen does not appear in the first six
batsmen or the first five batsmen lists, but appear in the first four batsmen
list on just three occasions which include the ongoing Mumbai Test against
India.
- AB Barath
{62}, KC Brathwhite {68}, KA Edwards {65*} and DM Bravo {57*} scored fifties at
Mumbai on the first day of the third and final Test against India.
- West Indian
batsmen last achieved this feat against India
at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai in December 1948 and also against England at Leeds
in July 1976.
- The
following are the three occasions in which the first four West Indian batsmen
have scored fifties.
