RT Ponting of Australia with his 104 against India at Ahmedadad on 24.03.11 earned one more feather in his cap. It was fourth hundred in the world cup and with it he became the only captain to score four hundreds in the world cup.  He went past SC Ganguly’s three hundreds on his way to the distinction.

RT Ponting's four hundreds are listed thus – 114 vs Sri Lanka at Centurion on 07.03.03 : 140* vs India at Johannesburg on 23.03.03 : 113 vs Scotland at Basseterre on 14.03.07 and 104 vs India at Ahmedabad on 24.03.11.

SC Ganguly's three hundreds read thus – 112* vs Namibiad at Pietermaritzburg on 23.02.03 : 107* vs Kenya at Cape Town on 07.03.03 and 111* vs Kenya at Durban on 20.03.03.
